The Dean Announces 18 Events to Celebrate the 85th Anniversary of the University of Colima
The Dean of the University of Colima, Christian Jorge Torres Ortiz Zermeño, announced in a press conference the 18 events that will be held to commemorate the institution’s 85th anniversary, which will take place on September 16. The activities will begin in May and include academic, research, and outreach events. Highlights include: the awarding of honorary doctorates to Juan Villoro and Carlos Coello; a commemorative ceremony on September 12; the International Congress on Ethics, Peace, and Environment; and the international ANUIES conference with the United Kingdom as guest country. Other events include sports competitions, artistic performances, and social initiatives such as “A Day to Give” and a performance by the UdeC Folkloric Ballet. The celebration will conclude in December with the inauguration of a native flora preservation space and two new buildings on the central campus.

Le doyen de l’Université de Colima, Christian Jorge Torres Ortiz Zermeño, a annoncé lors d’une conférence de presse les 18 événements qui seront organisés pour célébrer le 85e anniversaire de l’institution, prévu pour le 16 septembre. Les activités commenceront en mai et incluront des actions académiques, de recherche et de diffusion. Parmi les moments forts : la remise de doctorats honorifiques à Juan Villoro et Carlos Coello ; une cérémonie commémorative le 12 septembre ; le Congrès international sur l’éthique, la paix et l’environnement ; et la conférence internationale de l’ANUIES, avec le Royaume-Uni comme pays invité. D’autres événements comprennent des compétitions sportives, des spectacles artistiques et des actions sociales telles que « Une Journée pour Donner » et la présentation du Ballet Folklorique de l’UdeC. Les festivités se concluront en décembre par l’inauguration d’un espace de préservation de la flore native et de deux nouvelles constructions sur le campus central.
